Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC)

The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) was created in 1994 to foster Information and CommunicationTechnologies (ICT) opportunities for higher education. It is an innovative web-centered virtual organisation which was born thanks to ICT and its main goal is that every person satisfies their training and education needs, optimising their time and making their effort as profitable as possible, regardless of where they are. UOC develops the Virtual Campus as a University community where limitations of space and time are overcome. It also uses an educational methodology based on the complete personalisation and guidance of the student. Students, faculty and staff interact and cooperate in the community to create, structure, share and disseminate knowledge. UOC has a top quality team of professionals that provide all the necessary higher education services to more than 45000 students.

UOC has been involved in the many R&D Projects such as:

  • SIMaula (2010)

UOC's role is focused on the Pilot Demonstrators and Transfer of Accessible Courses Development, as well as participation in the following WPs of the project: (a) WP3: Certified Accessible e-Training Course Development and (b) WP4: Pilot Demonstrators and Transfer of Accessible Courses Development
